In October 2024, nearly 20 weeks pregnant, I got laid off — and it felt like the worst possible timing. After nearly a decade in corporate marketing, I was suddenly untethered. But the truth is, I needed a break. I didn’t want to dive right back into the fast-paced tech world just because that’s where I’d landed years ago. My last two roles had left me emotionally drained, mentally exhausted, and questioning my worth. Ain’t nobody got time for that.

So I paused. I started dreaming again, asking myself — what do I actually want to be when I grow up?

That question sparked Mae Flowers. Mae is my daughter’s middle name, and a nod to the phrase “April showers bring (Mae) flowers.” I’ve always loved creating bouquets and arrangements for friends and family — to celebrate life’s sweetest moments and to shine a bit of light during life’s darker times. and then it dawned on me: what if I turned something i love doing into something I get to do every day?

and here we are! With a background in art history, I approach each bouquet the way I would a work of art—thoughtfully composed to evoke emotion. I’m passionate about the creative process, and I strive to make my floral designs feel modern, whimsical, and above all, joyful. I believe there’s beauty to be found in the everyday, and I can’t wait to bring a little more of it into yours.
